Milo is very popular and widely patronized in the Philippines for so many years, but did you know how it started?
MILO originated in Australia and made for Nestle in the year 1934.
- It was developed by Thomas Mayne during the depression as an immediate solution to the hungry children that did not have enough nutrients from their daily diet.
To this day, the first Aussie MILO factory still stands in Smithtown, NSW.
- Aussie MILO tastes exactly the same since its creation with the original recipe still intact. However, the recipe is slightly different around the world.
MILO got its name from the Greek character Milos who was known for his great strength.
MILO creator, Thomas Mayne, believed in his product so much that he religiously enjoyed a hot MILO every night before bedtime. He died at the age of 93.
