La Naval de Manila, is a celebration commemorating the victory of the Spanish troops in the 17th century. This odds were so improbable that the troops held a procession of Our Lady before each battle. Their victory was declared a miracle and a celebration happens every second Sunday in October to commemorate this miraculous event.
The celebration includes the procession of the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary, services and a feast. Each year there is a theme, and the theme for 2011 the theme was Ina ni Kristo, Ina ng Buhay.
In the midst of celebration, a shrine of Our Lady is carried through the streets. People gather to pray, eat and give worship to Our Lady and their families. It is a special event that happens once a year binding family, country and faith.
