Filipino Biko Recipe

Very sweet rice combined with a dark brown sauce made from coconut milk makes up this delicious snack. Serve for birthday parties, fiestas, Christmas, New Year and other fun times. Serves 4 to 6 people


  • 2 cans of coconut milk
  • water, for cooking
  • 1 box dark brown sugar
  • 6 cups sweet rice

Cooking Directions

  1. Cook the sweet rice as you like, in a rice cooker or stovetop.
  2. When the rice is cooked, combine and mix well.
  3. While the rice is cooking, grab a large pan or wok and pour the cans of coconut milk and one can of water into it. Cook water and coconut milk over medium heat until it boils then add the brown sugar and stir until its nice and sticky. Note: for the water, just use one of the empty coconut milk cans.
