Not only is it the perfect shape for stir-frying, with its large expanse of surface area and gently curved sides to keep in food that is being tossed and flipped, it is also ideal for deep frying as it requires less oil than a straight-sided cooking pot. Ive used a wok to make dishes from one side of Asia to another. It is certainly the single most useful cooking pot in my kitchen! Even more useful because mine is enamel-lined; which means no reaction between metal and food.
